
The Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award (NHEA) has underscored the need for health service stakeholders to partner towards offering the best health services to the citizenry.
This year, NHEA’s emphasis on partnership has been reflected in its choice of the theme, “Collaborating for Impact: Strengthening Health Systems through the SWAp Approach.”
The theme was unveiled, yesterday, as the organisers of the award announced the opening of nominations for the 11th edition, scheduled to take place on June 27, 2025, at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
A statement signed by the Director of Marketing, Communication & Strategy of NHEA, Moses Braimah, noted that for over a decade, NHEA had remained the premier platform for recognising and celebrating excellence, innovation and dedication within Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
The statement also stated that the 2025 edition would continue its tradition by honouring outstanding individuals, institutions, and organisations that had made significant contributions to healthcare delivery.It quoted the Project Director, NHEA, Dr Wale Alabi, as saying: “For over a decade, NHEA has set the standard for healthcare excellence in Nigeria.
“This year’s theme highlights the power of partnerships in strengthening health systems. We invite the public to nominate outstanding contributors and join us in recognising healthcare champions.
“This year’s theme underscores the importance of multi-sectoral partnerships and coordinated efforts in driving sustainable healthcare improvements. It highlights the collective role of stakeholders across both public and private sectors in strengthening Nigeria’s health system.” It added: “The nominations could be submitted online via www.nigeriahealthcareawards.com.ng, saying it would close at midnight on May 2, 2025.
“The public is encouraged to participate by nominating deserving individuals and organisations across various award categories.” According to the statement, NHEA 2025 will feature four major award categories with over 30 subcategories, covering various aspects of the healthcare industry. The major categories are: Special Recognition Awards, Healthcare Delivery Services, Biomedical Technology & Innovation, Pharmaceutical Excellence, and Health Tech.
Braimah expressed enthusiasm about this year’s event, stating: “As we launch NHEA 2025, we are excited to spotlight the remarkable achievements transforming Nigeria’s healthcare sector. With growing investment and innovation, this platform continues to honour those driving excellence. We encourage all stakeholders to submit nominations and celebrate industry leaders.”
