
The Speaker of the Delta House of Assembly, Mr. Dennis Guwor, has commiserated with the Ijaw nation on the demise of elder statesman, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark.
The Speaker in his remarks at resumed plenary on Tuesday in Asaba, paid glowing tribute to the late Clark, describing him as an iconic leader.
”Distinguished colleagues, it is with a heavy heart full of pains, that I bring to your attention the demise of our renowned elder statesman and foremost national leader, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark.

”According to his family, Chief E.K. Clark passed, on Monday night.
”Pa E.K Clark was an enigma. He was a prominent advocate for the rights of the Niger Delta region.
”He was like a book full of many chapters for every one of us. He was a fiery environmental sustainability advocate who spoke truth to power,” the Speaker said.
Guwor noted that the late elder statesman, played pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s narrative and promoting national unity, particularly in his days as Federal Commissioner for Information.

He added that his wisdom, courage and vision inspired generations of Nigerians, adding that his legacy would continue to inspire many as they strive to build a better future for themselves and children.
The Speaker noted that the outpouring of love and support from across the globe bring comfort and solace during this difficult time.
”May the soul of our beloved Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to work towards a more just, equitable, and united Nigeria,” Guwor said.
