Employee docked over alleged theft of eight fans worth N1.2m

One Bolaji Adesina, 38, on employee of a major chain store, Foodco Nigeria Ltd, on Wednesday, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, charged with stealing eight fans, worth N1,210,400.
Adesina is facing two counts of conspiracy and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Toyin Ibrahim told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Feb. 7, at the Foodco Supermarket in Apata, Ibadan.
Ibrahim alleged that the defendant conspired with others at large to steal eight units of Binatone fans worth N1,210,400, belonging to the company.
He said the offences contravened Sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 and with two sureties in like sum.
He thereafter adjourned the case until March 27, for hearing.
