A foremost educationist and Principal Emeritus of Kings College Lagos, Sylvester Onoja, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Implementation Committee for the proposed Nana University of Health Sciences and Technology.
The university, expected to specialize in health technology, is to be located in Otakuhi, Olamaboro LGA, Kogi State.
Onoja said, “This prestigious institution aims to provide high-quality education and research opportunities in the fields of health sciences and technology.
“As Chairman of the Implementation Committee, I will be working closely with stakeholders to bring this vision to life.
“I am deeply humbled by this appointment and consider it a tremendous honour to contribute to the development of education in our community. I look forward to collaborating with the committee members, stakeholders, and the community to make this project a resounding success.”
Onoja assured that the university will produce skilled healthcare professionals, contributing to better healthcare services nationwide, creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and attracting investments, which will further drive Nigeria’s economic growth and increase access to education.
He added, “The university will lead to the development of modern infrastructure, including roads, housing, and utilities, in Olamaboro LGA.
“In summary, the Nana University of Health Sciences and Technology is expected to have a profound impact on Nigeria, Kogi State, Igalaland, and Olamaboro LGA, contributing to improved healthcare delivery, economic growth, cultural preservation, and infrastructure development.”
