According to the Chairmanship aspirant, his leadership as the chairman of AMDON in Niger State will witness an aggressive transformational stride, ensuring that every member’s interest is protected.
Speaking with newsmen at the IBB Pen House in Minna on Saturday, 22nd February 2025, Alhaji Lukuman Salawu assured that if given the mandate as the Chairman of the association, the welfare and well-being of his members would not be compromised.
Outlining his agenda if voted into office, Alhaji Salawu highlighted that his leadership would partner with relevant security agencies in the state to ensure the protection of every car dealer against any intimidation and harassment while carrying out their legitimate business, stressing the need for members to guard against engaging in unlawful business.
“My leadership will ensure the safety and security of my registered and genuine members. I will partner with relevant security agencies and other critical stakeholders to protect my members.
“I will not allow a situation where a vulcanizer will use his shop as a car stand. I will not accept a situation where a car wash will use his place as a car stand in Niger State.
“My administration in Niger State Motor Dealers will work with the Anti-Car Theft Unit of the Niger State Police Command in fishing out bad eggs among us to face the law.
“Like I told you, we will work with the relevant security agencies, like the Customs, who happen to be our stakeholders in this business, and other critical stakeholders to ensure the safety of our members who are genuinely doing their legitimate business,” he said.
Speaking further, Alhaji Salawu, who is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Salawu Global Motors Limited, told newsmen that having been in the car business for over three decades in Minna, he is concerned about the lack of competent leadership in the association over the years, arguing that his leadership would change the narrative for the betterment of the members.
He disclosed that his leadership would provide purposeful leadership that will create a good working relationship with Governor Umar Mohammed Bago’s New Niger Agenda transformational stride. According to the Chairmanship aspirant, this will give the association recognition in the Governor Bago-led New Niger Agenda.
Alhaji Lukuman Salawu then urged his teeming supporters to come out in large numbers to vote for him at the poll to move the association to the next pedestal.
