Aiyedatiwa appoints Fasoranti's son as SSG

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the governor of Ondo State, has appointed Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, son of Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of the pan-Yoruba sociopolitical organisation, as the Secretary to the State Government.

The new SSG, who was the chairman of the Ondo State Hospitals Management Board, was appointed shortly after the governor’s inauguration.

According to Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, in a statement made available to The Guardian, Fasoranti hails from the Akure South Local Council Area of the state, where the former SSG, the late Tayo Oluwatuyi, also came from.

The governor also reappointed Kayode Ajulo, the attorney general and Commissioner for Justice, and Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, the commissioner for finance.

Aiyedatiwa also reappointed five special advisers who served in the just-concluded administration, while the status of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, Abiola Olawoye, was upgraded to that of Special Adviser.

The statement reads in part: “The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti as the Secretary to the State Government.

“The appointment came as the governor resumed work in his office a few minutes after he was sworn in as the 7th democratically elected governor of the state on Monday.

“Until his appointment as SSG, Dr Fasoranti, who hails from the Akure South Local Government Area, was the chairman of the Ondo State Hospitals Management Board.

“Meanwhile, Governor Aiyedatiwa has approved the reappointment of Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac as Commissioner for Finance.

“Also, the following individuals have been reappointed as special advisers to the governor: Engr. Johnson Alabi, Power; Dr. Seun Osamaye, Women Affairs; Comrade Bola Taiwo, Union Matters and Special Duties; and Prof. Simidele Odimayo, Health

“Additionally, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, Engr. Abiola Olawoye, has been elevated to the position of Special Adviser, Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing.

“All the appointments take immediate effect. Governor Aiyedatiwa urged the new appointees to hit the ground running in providing effective and efficient services to the people of Ondo State.”
