
A Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, on Tuesday remanded a 20-year-old man, Sunday Oyegbele, in Awarjigoh Correctional
Centre for stealing iron rods valued N500,000.
Magistrate N. A. Layeni remanded Oyegbele after he pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing.
Layeni, then adjourned the case until Feb. 27 for fact and sentencing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb.19 at 12.30.p.m. at Aso-Rock, Ikoga-Zebbe area of Badagry.
Ekpo said that the defendant stole the iron rods belonging to the complainant, Mr Egbowon Johnson.
He said that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
