Planter of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain World-wide, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, has called on Muslims and Christians faithful, to pray for President Bola Tinubu, the 36 governors and other critical leaders for God to grant them the divine wisdom and understandings to navigate the challenges confronting the country.

The cleric particularly urged both Christian and Muslim faithful to use the fasting periods of Ramadan and Lent, to pray for the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria.

He also said Nigerians should not perceive the decision of the United States’ President, Donald Trump, who cut foreign aid to most African countries, as entirely negative.

He said while the move might seem unsettling, Trump acted in his country’s best interest.

The cleric also said it was important to embrace the spirit of love, kindness, and generosity that defines the sacred holy period.

A statement signed by the Personal Assistant to the cleric, Deji Ogunbusuyi, reads: “Prayer and fasting are essential tools for spiritual growth and development. Nigerians should utilize this time to seek divine intervention on the challenges facing the country.

“Collective prayers and fasting can bring about a sense of unity and purpose among Nigerians, and ultimately lead to a more peaceful and prosperous nation.”

He also urged Nigerians to remember the less privileged and vulnerable members in society during this period, noting that both Muslims and Christians, should engage in acts of charity and kindness, such as providing food and clothing to those in need.

As Muslims begin their 30-day fast, Prophet Alo reminded them that Ramadan is a time for spiritual rejuvenation and self-reflection. “Use this period to strengthen your faith, seek forgiveness, and renew your commitment to Allah.

“As Christians also observe the 40-day Lenten period. We also need to use this time for introspection, self-reflection, and spiritual growth. We need to pray for Nigeria, its leaders, and its people, and to seek divine guidance and wisdom.”

He said prayers for our leaders became necessary to seek divine guidance and wisdom for them as they navigate the country’s challenges.

As for President Trump’s decision, Olu-Alo said, “African leaders must also rise to do what is best for their own people. I therefore challenged African leaders to look inwards and develop strategies for self-sufficiency, reducing the continent’s reliance on foreign assistance.”

Reading from Psalm 25:10, he urged Christians to keep God’s commandments, stressing that divine mercy plays a crucial role in human success. “When people lose the mercy of God, failure becomes inevitable. Pride, deceit and ingratitude often block people from receiving mercy.

“At this time of economic hardship, Nigerians need to make sacrifices for others. Giving without expecting rewards opens doors to divine favour,” he said.
