A dramatic police chase along the Gwarinpa-Kubwa service lane in Abuja on Friday evening ended in a crash, leading to the arrest of a suspect involved in a drug-related incident.

The incident, which occurred around 6:00 p.m., began when officers of the Crack Squad, led by ASP Segun Ozioma Edene, stopped a Toyota Venza with registration number GWA 151 BM during a routine patrol.

Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered a package containing substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs. The driver, identified as 25-year-old Ahmed Abdul of Harmony Estate, Dawaki, was instructed to repark his car to prevent an escape attempt.

However, in a sudden twist, Inspector Raphael Oghalla, who had entered the vehicle for security reasons, found himself trapped as the suspect sped off at high speed. The pursuit ended when the vehicle lost control, veered off the road, and crashed into a gutter.
