The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) said it has taken a significant step towards ensuring the success of the forthcoming Local Government Council Elections, scheduled for August 9, 2025.

The Commission, in a statement, announced that it has secured the updated Register of Voters for Rivers State and the current list of Registered Political Parties in Nigeria from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Headquarters.

According to Tamunotonye P. Tobins, the Commissioner in charge of Media & Civic Education, the Commission is dedicated to ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.

The RSIEC has reassured the people of Rivers State of its commitment to conducting credible, free, and fair elections.

This development is a crucial part of the Commission’s ongoing preparations for the elections.
