Upon graduation, Babalola entered the professional world, joining PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Nigeria in 2020. As a Capital Market and Accounting Consulting Graduate, she gained hands-on experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). One of her key contributions during this period was helping implement IFRS 16 for companies in the financial sector, focusing on lease accounting—a crucial adjustment for firms across Nigeria.

She was soon entrusted with more responsibilities, including IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) modeling for electricity distribution companies in Nigeria. Additionally, Babalola played a pivotal role in providing accounting advisory services for clients across various sectors, including a multi-billion dollar divestment deal for a major oil company. Babalola’s experience at PwC laid the groundwork for her next move when she joined Forvis Mazars, LLP in the United States. As an Assurance Associate, she further honed her skills in auditing, working on audits of financial statements and internal controls for a wide range of clients. She was responsible for ensuring compliance with PCAOB and SEC guidelines, performing detailed substantive audit procedures, and identifying material weaknesses in financial statements. During this period, she was also instrumental in supporting clients in their timely filing of quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K reports with the SEC.
