Lady Bridget Nwaozomudoh

It has been ten years since the passing of Lady Bridget Nwabuawele Nwaozomudoh, a woman celebrated for her integrity, discipline, and steadfast commitment to justice. A fearless advocate for what was right, her influence continues to resonate with all who knew her.

Born on 10 September 1947, Lady Bridget Nwaozomudoh distinguished herself as an educator, retiring as the Vice Principal of Osadenis High School in Asaba. Embracing life with passion, she was a connoisseur of its finer aspects yet remained firmly grounded in her faith and principles. A devoted Catholic and an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St John International, she dedicated herself to the advancement of education and community development, championing causes that uplifted society.

A vibrant and extroverted individual, she established several social organisations that enriched her community. As President of the Onicha-Ugbo August Ladies in Asaba, she was instrumental in the development of the hall at All Saints Catholic Church, Onicha-Ugbo in the late 1990s.

Despite her many accomplishments, one of her deepest wishes remained unfulfilled. She longed to see all her grandchildren from her children, but fate denied her the joy of meeting those from her two sons before her departure on 1 April 2015.

Married to Chief Barrister Linus Nwaozomudoh, a retired police officer, Lady Bridget travelled widely, leaving an indelible mark on every community she encountered. A social mobiliser, a firm disciplinarian, and a passionate advocate for justice, her every word and deed was guided by an unwavering moral compass.

Even in death, her legacy endures. Her husband, children, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, friends and former pupils remember her not merely as an educator, but as a beacon of strength and guidance. Her voice continues to echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

As we reflect upon her remarkable life, we pay homage to the values she instilled and the countless lives she touched. Her memory is celebrated with deep gratitude, and we trust that her soul rests in eternal peace.
