The Guardian Reporter Wins 2 Quill Awards

GBENGA Salau of The Guardian, last Friday, won two awards in the just concluded 2015 Quill Awards, which held at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.
Salau’s stories were selected ahead of those of other reporters’ for him to emerge the best in the Brand Advocate Of The Year and the Best Reporter On Nutrition categories. Of the seven awards for the competition, Salau and Taiwo Alimi of The Nation Newspapers each won two awards.
Speaking on the award, Olivier Thiry, Managing Director of Promasidor Nigeria, the sponsor of the award, said, “the job of journalist is often painstaking, there is no reward that can adequately compensate the effort.
“It was in recognising this, that Promasidor Nigeria instituted the Quill Awards in 2002, as a platform for assessing, recognising and rewarding outstanding journalistic work.”
