Tech sales community breaks new ground with inaugural conference in Nigeria

The Tech Sales & Partnerships Community (TSPC) ushered in a new era for Nigeria’s commercial tech scene with the successful launch of the country’s first dedicated Tech Sales Conference.

Bringing together over 200 professionals and leaders, the conference created a vibrant space for networking, learning, and championing the vital roles that drive revenue growth across Africa’s tech industry.

“The energy at Tech Sales Con shows that commercial professionals are hungry for spaces that celebrate their work and expand their impact,” said Dara Ahmed, Founder of Tech Sales & Partnerships Community. “Revenue growth isn’t an afterthought; it’s at the heart of scaling Africa’s tech ecosystem.”

Co-Founder of TSPC Titilope Macaulay, who also serves as COO at Enyata, opened the conference with reflections on the community’s evolution, emphasizing TSPC’s commitment to elevating sales, partnerships, business development, and revenue operations across the continent.

Setting the tone for the event, keynote speaker Chukwuma Ukegbu, Head of Cross-Border Payments & Remittances at Kora, challenged attendees to rethink Africa’s markets.
“Africa is not one single market,” he said. “It is 54 markets with different payment systems and different currencies, and so payment is still a hassle. The key to solving cross-border payment is in partnerships is strategic partnerships.”

The agenda was packed with expert-led sessions designed to equip attendees with practical tools for growth:

● Henry Erigha (Solutions Benchmark Index Africa) discussed the unmatched importance of relationship-building in modern sales, reminding the audience that “deals are still closed by humans, not just emails.”

● Chinedu Ossai (Revwit) explored how Revenue Operations (RevOps) can help businesses scale predictably by aligning their sales engines with operational excellence.

● Oluchukwu Pearl Nwade (Senior Data & Analytics Engineer) pushed for smarter, data-informed selling beyond traditional CRM usage.

● Tayo Sowole (NotchHR) offered insights into the merging worlds of AI, behavioral science, and data in B2B sales, encouraging teams to adopt a more scientific approach to customer engagement.

A dynamic panel discussion — “From Entry-Level to Leadership: Scaling Your Career in Tech Sales” — featured Gertrude Umeh (Big Cabal), Kenneth Akan (Sales & Revenue Leader), and Oluwatobi Adeyemi (Transformative Sales Leader), who shared raw, honest stories about their journeys through the ranks of tech sales leadership.

One of the conference highlights was the Ultimate Sales Pitch Competition, where finalists pitched real-world solutions to a panel of industry judges. Chigozie Njoku impressed the jury with his business, Afiari, a platform helping wholesale and retail operations automate key processes, ultimately taking home the top prize. The judging panel included Folu Otubanjo (Paystack), Victory Mesona (GrowthPadi), TSPC’s own Titilope Macaulay, and Dara Ahmed.

In her closing remarks, Dara Ahmed thanked the event’s sponsors, speakers, and volunteers, acknowledging their role in making the conference a reality. Major partners included Kora, Revwit, Optical Diversity Telecom, GoMyCode, GrowthPadi, TalentPoel, among other supporters of Africa’s growing tech ecosystem.

The successful rollout of Tech Sales Con 2025 signals a powerful shift that Nigeria’s tech sales, partnerships, and business development professionals are no longer operating in the background; they are stepping forward, claiming their space, and shaping the future of Africa’s tech-driven economy.
