Ayemien Nosa Johnbosco has been honoured with the Visual Storytelling Excellence Award at the 2023 Africa Women Impact Summit and Awards, held at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The summit, which took place on 9 and 10 September, celebrated individuals whose contributions have significantly influenced their communities and professions across the continent. Nosa, the Founder and Chief Executive of Irock International Limited, was recognised for his achievements in media consultancy, cinematography, and digital communication.
Since founding Irock International in 2016, Nosa has built a reputation for delivering high-quality visual content, including feature and short films, documentaries, skits, music videos, and corporate productions. His multidisciplinary background in information technology and business analysis has further enhanced his creative approach, making him a sought-after consultant in Nigeria’s media industry.
This year’s event drew several high-profile personalities, including Her Excellency Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, former President of Mauritius; Ms Kanayo Awani, Executive Vice President of the Intra-African Trade Bank, Afreximbank; Hon Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour; and Her Excellency Joyce Banda, former President of Malawi.
Alongside Nosa, other “He for She” leaders recognised at the summit included Kayode Akintemi, Chief Executive of News Central TV; veteran comedian Ali Baba; and healthcare advocate Mr Benjamin. Awards also went to Hon Barr Uju Kennedy as Women Empowerment Personality of the Year and Hon Stella Okotete, named Africa Women Empowerment Icon of the Year.
Beyond his work in the media sector, Nosa is known for his humanitarian contributions as a Rotarian. He has held several leadership roles within Rotary, including in the Public Image Committee and the Nigeria National PolioPlus Committee. Through his global advocacy work, he continues to promote social change and community development.
Organisers of the summit commended Nosa not only for his professional achievements but for using visual storytelling as a tool for social transformation. His recognition, they said, reflected the growing importance of creative communication in shaping public discourse across Africa.
