As the countdown begins for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, scheduled from July 26 to August 11 2024, the spotlight is now on the stylish uniforms of the different countries that will be competing at the sporting event. The 2024 Olympics is expected to be a show of sporting excellence, and also a fashion showcase as renowned designers display their works for the athletes on the world stage. Brands like Ralph Lauren, PUMA, and Michel&Amazonka, have shared a glimpse of their designs for their athletes Olympic kit.

1. Nigeria
Nigeria’s team will show up in designs created by Actively Black, an athleisure brand based in Los Angeles. Their opening ceremony uniform is expected to incorporate the traditional Nigerian attire with classic sportswear. That is, a blend of the popular senator suits and buba dresses, with sporting jerseys and tracksuits. It is expected to be the first of its kind. For now, the brand has revealed the merch in anticipation of the commencement of the Olympics. Interestingly, the merch features the colours of the Nigerian flag, green and white, in different sweatsuits and podium shirt styles.
2. Mongolia
The Mongolian Olympic team are already making a bold statement with their fashion choice. Designed by Ulaanbaatar based fashion label, Michel&Amazonka, they have created four different looks for their athletes, drawing inspiration from the traditional Mongolian deel. The deel is a traditional Mongolian clothing made of leather and used for horseback riding.
Also, the embroidery done on the player’s vests pays homage to the country’s Naadam festival. It has symbols of the Nine White Banners and the Olympic torch.

3. United States
The United States (US) have once again entrusted the fashion brand, Ralph Lauren, to dress its team. The brand has been the official designer of Team USA since 2008. For the opening ceremony, in true Ralph Lauren style, the American team will sport a preppy look with navy blazers, button down shirts, and light wash denim. And for the closing ceremony, the attire features moto-style jackets with white jeans complemented with blue and white face caps.
4. France
As the official host country of the Olympics, France has teamed up with French designer brand, Berluti, to style its team. The team will wear blue tuxedo like jackets for the opening ceremony complemented by white cotton shirts, silk slacks, and black sneakers. The team exudes elegance in their uniforms, an aesthetic that is synonymous with France.
5. Haiti
Finally, the Haiti Olympic team will be styled by Haitian-Italian designer, Stella Jean. Their uniforms feature traditionally inspired weaving patterns. They also include chambray shirts, blazers, and patterned belts. In addition, a work of art titled, “Passage,” by a Haitian painter called Philippe Dodard will be featured on the uniforms.
