Be anxious for anything and believe God for provision, GKS brothers tell members

The God’s Kingdom Society (GKS), also known as the church of the Living God recently held its 48th lay members conference titled: “Be Anxious For Nothing,” in Salem City, Warri, Delta State.

The President, Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun, who declared the conference open, appreciated God for the success of previous conferences and the successful election that held during the youth and women fellowship conferences, as well as the election that produced new Laity Officers Committee (LOC).

He encouraged members not to be anxious for anything, but believe that God will always provide for his children.

The Laity Chairman, Brother Hope Eghagha, in his response, informed members that the LOC will continue to galvanise members to support all ongoing projects within the church, adding that consultations are currently ongoing to provide addition support in the area of alternate power supply to Salem City.

In his keynote address, titled: “Be Anxious For Nothing” taken from Phil 4:6, Eghagha stressed on the need for members to cultivate the habit of prayer, saying it is the antidote to anxiety.

Explaining the psychological and spiritual effect of anxiety, which he described as a slow killer, Eghagha warned members to desist from it.

He said: “In place of fear, have faith. In place of anxiety, have trust in God who alone can give peace.”

The event featured the election of new officers to steer the affairs of the LOC and the launch of Saint Urhobo Square (SUS) among others.

The new officers are: Bro. Hope Eghagha (Chairman); Bro. Chinedu Nwawuba (Vice Chairman); Bro. Abednego Harbor (Secretary); Bro. Ben Egbo (Assistant Secretary); Bro. Michael Ogubuike (Treasurer); Bro. Joshua Tudje (Financial Secretary).
