Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia Central Senatorial District have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, citing his sweeping economic reforms and infrastructure projects as evidence of a transformative leadership deserving of continuity.

Under the banner of the Renewed Hope Partners (RHP), the group made its position known in a communiqué issued after a strategic meeting held in Umuahia.

The statement followed the APC National Summit held on May 22, 2025, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where party leaders and supporters across the country reaffirmed their confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership.

Signed by RHP Coordinator Pastor Pat Ikechi, PhD, and Secretary Dr. Larry Isaac, the communiqué pledged full support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, stating:

“The Renewed Hope Partners, Abia Central, pledge to work assiduously for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and all candidates of our great party, the APC, in the 2027 general elections.”

The endorsement was anchored on what the group described as Tinubu’s “profound and far-reaching achievements” under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“These include the increase in revenue allocations to state governments following fuel subsidy removal, the unification of exchange rates, the repayment of Nigeria’s $3.4 billion IMF loan, and a significant over-100% increase in civil service salaries.”

Also highlighted were landmark infrastructure projects such as the 700-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the 1,068-kilometre Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, ongoing tax reforms, and the introduction of a Students’ Loan Scheme to promote access to tertiary education.

“These strides are a testament to President Tinubu’s capacity to steer Nigeria through complex economic challenges and toward long-term stability,” the group noted.

The RHP also aligned with the Progressive Governors Forum, the APC National Assembly Caucus, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, in backing Tinubu’s second term, described the President as “the right leader for this pivotal moment in Nigeria’s democratic evolution.”

The meeting also recalled the formal launch of the Abia Central chapter of Renewed Hope Partners on May 12, 2025, by Rep. Samuel Ifeanyi Onuigbo, a member of the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC).

The event, which welcomed defectors from PDP, LP, NNPP, and other parties into the APC fold, further signaled the growing acceptance of the party in the Southeast.

Onuigbo, who chairs the NEDC Committee on Security, Climate Change, and Special Interventions, attributed the growing popularity of APC to what he described as “evidence-based, people-centered governance” under President Tinubu.

“President Tinubu’s achievements show that experience matters in governance. He is the leader Nigeria needs now,” he declared.

A former lawmaker and sponsor of Nigeria’s landmark Climate Change Act, Onuigbo, urged members of RHP to take the message of “renewed hope and visible progress” into every corner of Abia Central.

He also praised Kalu for initiating the RHP movement and called on stakeholders to sustain the momentum:
“We shall not fail, we shall not falter. Rather, we must fly on the wings of President Tinubu’s vision for a renewed, prosperous Nigeria.”
