Prominent youth development leader and advocate for edutainment, Tayo Folorunsho, has applauded the Nigeria Police Force support for youth initiatives, and called on Nigerians to reconsider their views of the force, encouraging the public to embrace the principle that “the police is indeed your friend.”
He made the call during a recent courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters Abuja, where he had audience with the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, as part of a broader initiative to foster stronger ties between Nigerian students and law enforcement.
Folorunsho, a leading voice in Nigeria’s fast-growing edutainment movement — a powerful fusion of education and entertainment aimed at equipping students with real-world skills, civic awareness, and leadership values shared his firsthand experience with the police during a recent student-centered event — a mountain hike designed to promote leadership, personal development, and civic responsibility among young Nigerians.
“The police came through for us in an incredible way. Not only did they provide essential security, they even deployed a helicopter to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their presence and encouragement were deeply impactful,” he said.
Through his dynamic events which range from adventurous hikes to tech bootcamps and safety workshops, thousands of students across secondary and tertiary institutions have been impacted. He added his programs often feature strategic collaborations with security agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and private organisations, to create holistic and impactful learning experiences.
“Our mission is to educate students on the responsibilities, legal boundaries, and civic role of the police. Far too many youths grow up with a deep mistrust of law enforcement. We believe education and engagement are key to rebuilding that trust,” Folorunsho stated.
With his continued advocacy for law enforcement collaboration and youth empowerment, Folorunsho is redefining how young Nigerians engage with civic institutions — using the power of edutainment to bridge gaps, inspire change, and shape a more informed, confident generation.
