Standard Insurance commits to industrial devt, donates N50m to NCRIB

Standard Insurance Consultants Limited (SICL), a leading insurance and reinsurance brokerage firm in Nigeria has committed to industrial development and has donated N50 million towards the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers Lagos (NCRIB) building project.

During the firm’s 45th anniversary celebration in Lagos, the Chairman and Managing Director of SICL, Professor Ahmed Salaudeen announced the donation.

The event was attended by industry players, insurance companies, the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), valued clients, international partners, and other stakeholders.

Salaudeen reflected on the company’s growth from its humble beginnings in Ibadan, Oyo State to its current headquarters in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, saying SICL served clients in sectors, like oil and gas, aviation, marine, construction, hospitality, manufacturing, agriculture, and banking.

The company has international partnerships and a global presence. The Chairman highlighted the company’s continued success based on trust, credibility, and professionalism.

“We do not wait for the 30-day premium remittance window set by NAICOM. We remit premiums promptly upon receipt from clients,” he stated.

He added that SICL is currently among the top three insurance brokers in Nigeria known for prompt premium remittance and has maintained a solid reputation for integrity and ethical business practices over the last four and a half decades.

“Ongoing projects include a digital claim administration process for faster claims resolution and online platforms for seamless insurance purchases.

“Digitalisation is now a core focus as technology is fast changing our industry. We are committed to bringing insurance services closer to the people,” the MD added.

As part of its anniversary initiatives, SICL also announced plans for social corporate responsibility, including the donation to the NCRIB building project, and the endowment scheme for women in insurance in partnership with the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) and the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).
