The World Health Organisation (WHO) Nigeria Country Office has initiated a pre-qualification process for Nigerian-based suppliers, aiming to expand its vendor database and ensure transparent procurement of goods and services. This initiative encourages all eligible vendors, including those already registered with WHO Nigeria, to participate.
The WHO Nigeria office requires a diverse range of goods and services across various sectors. These include, but are not limited to, agricultural products, building and construction materials, financial services, pharmaceuticals, healthcare supplies, furniture, educational resources, and printing services. A comprehensive list of these categories is available online.
Interested companies must demonstrate their organisational structure, legal standing, technical capabilities, and relevant experience in their chosen fields. The pre-qualification process will involve site visits to verify the information provided. Only vendors who complete this pre-qualification will be considered for future WHO procurement opportunities.
Key requirements for participation include being an incorporated company in Nigeria and possessing a proven track record of delivering similar services both locally and internationally. Applicants should also have a thorough understanding of their selected sectors, including regulatory frameworks, pricing, taxation, and logistics. Vendors can apply individually or as part of a consortium, provided they offer proof of legal trading.
The Expression of Interest (EOI) form, along with all requested supporting documents, must be submitted by July 18, 2025, West Africa Time (WAT). Supporting documents, such as company registration, must be attached separately and clearly labelled with the UNGM registration number, company name, and document type.
The WHO emphasises that this EOI is not a binding contract and does not guarantee approval or the award of any contracts. It is merely the initial step in a comprehensive evaluation process that will involve further due diligence. The organisation reserves the right to modify or cancel requirements, accept or reject any submissions, or alter the outcome of the exercise at its sole discretion, without obligation to inform or explain its decisions[cite: 18]. Vendors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of their submissions and will bear all associated costs. All information provided will be treated as confidential and used exclusively for the pre-qualification process. Participation in this process signifies agreement to these terms.
