The Sustainable Impact and Development (SID) Initiative has launched a Digital Toolkit and Guide on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Lobbying and Advocacy, aimed at supporting adolescents, young people living with HIV, and persons with disabilities.
The toolkit was introduced during a stakeholder meeting in Lagos as part of the We Lead project, supported by HIVOS.
The initiative seeks to address gaps in advocacy resources for youth-led organisations, offering structured information and strategies to enhance their engagement on SRHR issues.
The toolkit’s content includes rights-based advocacy frameworks, digital mobilisation methods, inclusivity strategies, and examples of successful interventions.
At the dissemination event, representatives from more than 30 youth-led and civil society organisations examined the toolkit’s structure and applications. Participants discussed how the resource could be integrated into existing programs and used to improve SRHR advocacy and service delivery.
Executive Director of SID Initiative, Ms. Elizabeth Talatu Williams, explained the toolkit’s purpose, saying, “The toolkit is designed to support adolescents and young people, especially those living with HIV and persons with disabilities, to lead transformative change in their communities. Our goal is to improve access to knowledge and tools that drive meaningful, youth-led advocacy for sexual and reproductive health rights.”
She encouraged organisations to apply the toolkit in their work and provide feedback for further refinement.
The SID Initiative focuses on advancing SRHR for adolescents and young people across Nigeria, particularly in underserved communities.
