Osun Poll sets stage for 2027 election- Timi Frank

Comrade Timi Frank

Former APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Timi Frank, has called on opposition parties to close ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections, pointing to Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Osun State victory as proof that a united and vigilant electorate can determine outcomes.

In a statement issued by Frank, he said opposition parties need “a coordinated effort” to mount a credible challenge to the ruling APC in 2027.

He framed the Osun result as a lesson in voter discipline, noting that residents accepted money from politicians but still voted independently.
“Money is taken, yet still voted for the candidate of their choice,” he said, adding that such funds belong to citizens “as it was taken from government coffers.”

Frank pressed Nigerians to replicate that behaviour nationwide in the next general election.
“They must vote, stay, and see their votes counted, just as they have done in Osun,” he said, urging voters to remain at polling units until results are tallied.

The statement also singled out Afrobeats star, Davido, for praise over his engagement with electoral integrity, with Frank calling on youths and celebrities to follow suit.
“This is not the time to sit on the fence. Nigeria belongs to all of us,” he said.

Frank closed the statement with a broader appeal for civic participation, saying: “The time has come for the people to rise, vote, and protect their votes. The time has come to choose wisely.”

He congratulated Adeleke and the people of Osun State, describing the outcome as a reaffirmation of the importance of citizen participation in Nigeria’s democracy.
