Firm set for renewable energy expansion

An electrical engineering firm, Dosa David Electrical, has announced its expansion into the renewable energy sector.

The company made this announcement at a news conference held in Lagos, to mark its 30th anniversary, where it reflected on three decades of service.

Established on January 12, 1990, Dosa David Electrical has evolved from a modest engineering firm into a nationally respected brand in electrical systems design, power equipment sales, and turnkey project execution.

With a strong foundation in traditional power engineering, the company is now positioning itself at the forefront of Nigeria’s transition to sustainable energy.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director, Engr. Dosa Adebayo Abel, recounted the company’s journey from inception to leadership in electrical contracting.

“This milestone is not just a celebration of time, but a testament to the dedication, resilience, and innovation that have defined our journey. Over the last 30 years, we’ve grown, adapted, and embraced change and today, we are ready for the future,” he said.

Founded by Engr. Dosa David in 1990, the firm quickly gained recognition for its expertise in high-voltage systems, electrical automation, and maintenance services.

With over two decades of field experience, a dedicated technical workforce, and a deep commitment to safety and environmental standards, the company became synonymous with quality and reliability in Nigeria’s industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Over the years, Dosa David Electrical has built an impressive clientele base that includes, but is not limited to, globally recognized and locally trusted brands such as Nestlé, Aggreko, Beta Glass, PZ Wilmar, Somotex, and Engeepet.

The company’s ability to consistently deliver results on complex and time-sensitive projects has earned it the confidence of multinational corporations across diverse sectors.

Under the leadership of Engr. Adebayo Abel, who holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Electronics Engineering, an MBA from the UK, and professional certifications including COREN, PMP, and CBAP, the company has embraced modern project management methodologies, client-focused service delivery, and now, a bold step into green energy.

“In response to the growing energy challenges and environmental concerns in Nigeria, we are proud to announce that Dosa David Electrical is now actively involved in the sales and installation of renewable energy products,” Engr. Abel revealed.

“This includes solar home systems, hybrid inverters, lithium battery solutions, and microgrid design for estates and rural electrification. Our goal is to help bridge the power gap sustainably.”

The company showcased new partnerships with global renewable energy manufacturers and shared highlights from recent pilot projects involving solar installations for schools and small businesses in underserved communities.

With energy demand growing and climate concerns becoming more urgent, the firm sees its renewable energy division as both a business opportunity and a social responsibility.

Guests at the event included representatives from the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE),
COREN, private sector stakeholders, and clients from across the power, construction, and oil & gas industries.

Many praised the company’s commitment to local workforce development and safety standards.
“In 30 years, Dosa David Electrical has set a remarkable example in Nigerian engineering,” said a staff, Engr. Hwabejire Glory, the company’s Manager of Operations. “Our pivot into renewable energy shows a company that is not just rooted in tradition, but driven by the future.”

Looking ahead, the firm announced plans to launch a dedicated Renewable Energy Training Academy to equip young engineers and technicians with skills in solar technology, energy auditing, and sustainable system design. The company also hinted at its interest in participating in government-backed rural electrification programs and power sector reforms.

As the anniversary conference wrapped up, Engr. Abel reiterated the company’s mission: “Whether it’s a high-voltage industrial upgrade or a rooftop solar system for a rural clinic, we bring the same commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. We are just getting started.”
