God’s instruments of warfare

Our God is a jealous God and whosoever professes to serve Him must do so without a divided identity. The person must be focused to serve and worship Him without looking back. Based on this God will not allow His faithful servants and children to suffer in the hands or camp of the enemy. He fights for those —people, servants and children — that are obedient to Him. He ensures that their enemies are totally subdued.

God is a spirit; His ways are mysterious and difficult to understand with physical mind and eyes. In His nature as a spirit, He works in mysterious ways and fights for His children with instruments beyond human comprehension. The people He fights for must be obedient to His words and are ready to carry out His instructions as written in the book of Law. He fought for the children of Israel in many unimaginable ways, as written in Judges 7:18-22: “When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, the sword of the Lord, and of Gideon.19: So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had, but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands. 20: And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, the sword of the Lord, and of Gideon. 21: And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled. 22:
And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the Lord set every man’s sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Beth-Shittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abel-Meholah, unto Tabbath.”

God had earlier on instructed Gideon the war strategy to apply and defeat the enemy of allied powers. Initially, a total of 32,000 men came for the battle, but God had to reduce the number drastically to 300 men to prove to the Israelites that the defeat of the enemy of three kingdoms was not by their power. It was at the blow of the trumpet and shouting the sword of the Lord, and of Gideon that the enemy ran and even killed one another in the course of their running away. God gave the people victory over their enemy on a platter of gold.

Again, earlier when the Israelites were in Egypt under bondage and forced labour, God fought for their release by turning all the rivers, streams, springs and all sources of water of the Egyptians into blood. He denied them the use of water until Moses prayed to God for mercy. Again, when Pharaoh still refused to let them go, He brought lies, fought them with frogs, locusts and eventually killed every firstborn son of each family in Egypt. Pharaoh was forced to allow them to go. God is in the business of fighting for His people, using different instruments that made it difficult for the enemies to fight back.

Deuteronomy 11:18-19 says: “Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.19: And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

The people God fights for must be obedient to His words and make declaration of their loyalty to God, their creator, at all times. They also teach their children to follow the way of the Lord as handed down from their forefathers. God does not stand for anybody or group of people in isolation of His words. They must profess of their dependence on Him. You must be loyal to Him before He stands between you and your enemy. It is also expedient to note that God’s instruments of war are not static; He chooses His battle strategy from time to time. He could use human beings or any other instruments depending on His choice.

In Jeremiah 51:20-23 the Bible says: “Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms. 21: And with thee will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with thee will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider. 22: With thee also will I break in pieces man and woman; and with thee will I break in pieces old and young; and with thee will I break in pieces the young man and the maid. 23: I will also break in pieces with thee the shepherd and his flock; and with thee will I break in pieces the husbandman and his yoke of oxen; and with thee will I break in pieces captains and rulers.”

In this context, God is using human being to fight the enemy. It is characteristic of Him to choose His instruments from generation to another. There were times and situations He used the declaration of blood of Jesus Christ and the enemy was subdued. Today, among the members of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Movement, He uses the simple declaration of “I am a Chosen” and the enemy will be confused and subdued; in most cases, they are disarmed. Testimonies abound; of course, many of them where unarmed women, girls and, even, men with bare hands collected guns from armed robbers. And when such guns are handed over to the police, they would ask or wonder of thepossibility of such feat. They fail to understand thatit was God fighting for His people. Atimes the danger will be averted when the member of the Lord’s Chosen uses an anointed handkerchief to clean his face and God will fight for him.

God fights in various ways using different instruments. When members of the Lord’s Chosen wear apron of the ministry and armed robbers shot at them, the bullets would eithernot penetrate their body or the gun will not work at all. This is the power of God in action.

When the Israelites departed from Egypt, they were faced with the danger of crossing the Red Sea without a boat or bridge. The Egyptian soldiers armed to their teeth were advancing to destroy them, but the Almighty arose to fight for them . In the lead scripture God through Moses told them to move forward that He God will fight for them and they will hold their peace. God parted the Red Sea into two and they walked through on dry ground.
In this present dispensation God is ready to fight for His people with simple declaration of the words, “I Am A Chosen, God Of My Pastor Where Are You,” and you will be surprised to see the manifestation of God’s power.

However, it must be emphatically stated here that God does not stand in the gap for sinners, who disobey the word of God to commit fornication and adultery, one who kills in the course of dispossessing people of their belongings or kidnaping for ransom. One who smokes cigarettes, Indian hemp, cocaine and other dangerous drugs. One must live a holy and a righteous life before God will fight for him. Today, if you are still engaging in all or any of the sins stated above or any other not written, repent, give your life to Jesus Christ and God will stand for you in times of danger and whenever you call upon Him in Jesus’ name.
