Foundation graduates 150 out-of-school girls, harps on nation-building

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), TruConnected, has donated no fewer than 20 laptops to three tertiary institutions and five secondary schools in Ondo State in a bid to promote digital literacy and bridge the technological gap in education.

According to the founder of TruConnected, Kaye Kuye, the initiative was designed to foster inclusive growth and ensure no one is left behind in the digital age.

The donation, made in collaboration with the Office of the Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), was unveiled at an event themed “Repurpose, Empower, and Transform: Sustainability & the Importance of Bridging the Digital Divide.”

TO mitigate the growing numbers of out-of-school girls in the country and make the teaming youths self-reliance, Moses Adekoyejo Majekodunmi Foundation has graduated 150 youths, mainly girls, on various skills in diverse fields to enable them to contribute meaningfully to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.

Executive Secretary of the Foundation, Richard Uwayzor, who disclosed this, yesterday, during the 10th anniversary of the Foundation in Abeokuta, said the programme addressed the critical need for skills development among out-of-school girls with emphasis on comprehensive training in various trades.

He stated that over the years, beneficiaries have gained expertise in shoe-making, auto mechanics, hairdressing, fashion design, as well as catering services.
