As preparations intensify for the 2025 Sports Federations’ elections across the country, the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF) released its official timeline for the Electoral Congress on Thursday.
In a statement by NWF Media Officer Amaechi Agbo, it was noted that the timetable outlines the process for electing new members to the federation’s Executive Committee.
Agbo indicates that the picking of nomination forms by aspirants will commence from Thursday, July 3 and end on Wednesday, July 9.
A memo signed by the NWF Secretary-General, Melvina Apeh, indicated July 20 as the date for submission of the list of aspirants by the Electoral Committee to the NWF Board for ratification. Submission of lists of representatives from NAPHER, NAWIS, as well as institutions, will take place on Friday, August 1.
The Nigeria Weightlifting Federation’s 2025 Electoral Congress will hold on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
It is worth recalling that the Electoral Congress, which brought the NWF Board under the transformative leadership of Dr Ibrahim Abdul Aladi, was held on September 30, 2021.
Dr Ibrahim’s almost four years in office have received commendations from critical stakeholders both within and outside the country.
