The 19-year old Denmark-born and Port Harcourt, Rivers State bred sound is a fusion of genres — blend of African rhythms (Afrobeats) with international influences like Pop and R&B, reflecting his Danish environment.

“I spent the first 11 years of my life in Denmark. Growing up in Europe gave me early exposure to diverse musical cultures, and it has helped me to develop a global perspective on my kind of sound,” the budding artiste said at his unveiling in Ikeja, Lagos.

3Slaq’s passion for music was ignited at a young age when he began crafting melodies for fun. This early love for music laid the groundwork for what has become his professional journey. His age suggests he’s part of a new generation of artistes pushing boundaries in the music industry, as his music reflects his perspectives and passions. Each note, beat and lyric is infused with a sense of purpose and conviction that’s impossible to ignore.

“I have been doing music ever since I was a child, but I started my professional career three years ago at the age of 16. This was when I saw other people doing music and becoming successful with it, and I was like I have to do this and make a living with it,” he stated.

Speaking on penetration of African sounds, especially Afrobeats, which is now a globally accepted sound both in Denmark and other European countries, 3Slaq explained that the genre is trending in Scandinavian country and they are in love with it.

“Most of them, they don’t even know what most of the lyrics mean, but as far as the vibe is just there, that’s what they love. I recently I had this show I performed in; it’s called Distortion. It happens in Denmark like every summer.

“I recently performed at a concert in Copenhagen, Denmark, on March 29, and the people love my songs,” he enthused.

Poised to make a significant impact in the Nigerian and international music landscape, 3Slaq’s desire is collaboration with Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer, Stanley Omah Didia well known as Omah Lay, who he said is a great influence and Rema.
