Senior High Chief Alex Alegieuno Omiogbemi, the Adolor of Uwanno Kingdom, has been presented with the Nigerian Soccer Ambassador Award in recognition of his contributions to grassroots sports development and youth-focused initiatives.
The award was conferred during a ceremony held at Merit House, Abuja, which was attended by officials from both the public and private sectors. Among the guests were the Governor of Bayelsa State, the Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, and House Majority Leader Julius Ihonvbere.
Other attendees included the APC National Women Leader, the National President of the National Council of Women Societies, and Hon. Susan Lokpobiri, spouse of the Minister of Petroleum. According to organisers, the presence of these officials was intended to acknowledge the event and the values it aimed to highlight.
Also present at the ceremony were Gen. Paul Boroh, former presidential adviser on the Niger Delta and ex-coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme; Prince Vincent Okumagba, interim chairman of the Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club; and Engr. Rotimi Omoboriowo, Director General of NIPSS. Additional attendees included entrepreneurs and professionals such as Chief Daniel Osakwe, Chef Jayne of Obudu Place, Chief Lucky Ohimai of Tarex Conglomerate, Haiji Kafar Liameed of the Lagos State Football Association, Amb. Sammy Anistar Uche, and Chief Okechukwu Don Nwuzor.
Omiogbemi currently serves as President General of the Emokhueme Community. During his tenure, a secondary school—Omiogbemi Secondary School—was established, along with the Emokhueme Education Trust Fund. The fund, aimed at increasing educational access, is managed by a board chaired by Dr. (Engr.) Kess Omiogbemi and vice-chaired by Prince Fidelis Ayiabe, chairman and managing director of Fidson Pharmaceuticals.
In the private sector, Omiogbemi is the Group Managing Director of Rainbow Network Global Synergy Ltd., a company with interests in oil and gas, construction, engineering, and hospitality. He also oversees the Alex Alegieuno Omiogbemi Foundation, which operates in the areas of education, entrepreneurship, and mentorship.
Omiogbemi is listed as a United Nations Peace Ambassador and a member of the International World Peace Advocates. The award presented in Abuja adds to his record of recognition for civic and community-based engagement.
No official statement was issued by the Nigerian Football Federation or the Ministry of Youth and Sports in connection with the event.
