Oyo Assembly reinstates sacked LG chairman

The Oyo State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, reinstated the sacked Chairman of Saki East Local Government Area of the state, describing the allegations as too vague.

The reinstatement followed an investigative report presented at a plenary presided by deputy speaker, Abiodun Fadeyi today at the Legislative Chamber, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Whip and member representing Lagelu State Constituency, Akintunde Olajide, who presented the report, noted that the Saki-East PDP Chairman, Emmanuel Adedokun, was accused of financial mishandling, factionalization and party division was misconstrued as it appears lack of communication eventuated a petition raised against him by some members of the party.

He added that the affected politician had presented all necessary evidence to prove the accusation baseless, and conditional.

The House unanimously pronounced the local government party chairman reinstated, directing acting leadership members to return to their earlier posts, with a call to make the party formidable in the Oke-Ogun Zone of the State. However, the House has adjourned its sitting to July 12th this year.
