The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) have commended Insurance Meets Tech (IMT) for driving innovation in the insurance industry.
The regulators described the conference as a key platform advancing digital adoption and modernising insurance operations in Nigeria.
CIIN President, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, praised the yearly platform for consistently fostering forward-thinking conversations and collaborative innovations that prioritise technology in reshaping insurance operations.
She noted that the IMT is dismantling long-standing barriers and ushering in an era of innovation tailored to younger and tech-savvy Nigerians.
“The IMT is changing the narrative of our industry, bringing relevance, improving acceptance and creating a sustainable impact on the wider economy,” Ilori said.
He added: “The future of insurance lies in how effectively we integrate digital thinking into every layer of our operations.”
Speaking in the same vein, the Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Omosehin, acknowledged the IMT’s role in disrupting traditional practices and leading the charge for modernisation across the industry.
“Digital innovation is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity,” Omosehin asserted.
“The IMT is more than a conference, it is a catalyst for meaningful transformation. I applaud the convener’s vision and urge all stakeholders to embrace technology and work collectively to improve on the IMT.”
Also speaking to this, the convener of the IMT, Odion Aleobua, expressed appreciation for the endorsement from Nigeria’s insurance leadership, stating that the recognition affirms the platform’s purpose.
“This backing from top industry figures like the commissioner and CIIN President validates the mission to build a digitally inclusive insurance ecosystem for every Nigerian,” Aleobua said.
