Enugu healthcare firm to commence training programme for aspiring caregivers

An Enugu-based firm, Save A Life Healthcare Services, has announced that the next session of its healthcare assistant and caregiver training programme will commence on August 7, 2025.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Bartholomew Nwankwo, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Enugu. According to Nwankwo, the training aims to equip participants with the skills required to pursue career opportunities in the healthcare sector both within Nigeria and abroad.

Operating from its GRA Enugu headquarters and a satellite office opposite the Shoprite Gate along the IMT Bus-stop, Save A Life Healthcare Services said the programme is open to both in-person and virtual participants.

“Our training goes beyond the basics. We are preparing individuals for global opportunities in the healthcare sector,” Nwankwo said.

The company’s training curriculum covers core skills in patient care, including adult and paediatric care, handling of patients with disabilities and mental health issues, emergency response, infection control, and operation of basic medical equipment. The programme also includes modules on CPR, basic life support, medication assistance, and vital signs monitoring.

Participants will undergo two weeks of classroom-based instruction followed by two weeks of clinical internship at the organisation’s hospital facility in Enugu.

Trainees who complete the programme will receive nine internationally recognised certificates accredited under the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) framework from institutions based in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States, according to Nwankwo. He said these certifications are intended to boost employability in the global healthcare sector.

Beyond technical training, the organisation said it provides guidance on preparing professional CVs, reference letters, and application materials tailored for healthcare jobs overseas, including English proficiency test support.

While details on guaranteed job placements remain unconfirmed, the company said it offers guidance and referrals for qualified candidates seeking healthcare roles abroad.

The firm noted that applicants can pay half the programme fees upon registration, with the remainder payable before the completion of training.

Nwankwo encouraged prospective participants to register early, describing the programme as a step towards “building a career that makes an impact locally and globally.”
