The 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) concluded on Saturday night with Nigeria emerging champions after a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over hosts Morocco in the final.
The Super Falcons, trailing 2-0 at halftime, mounted a spirited second-half fightback led by Esther Okoronkwo, who converted a penalty and assisted the equaliser scored by Folashade Ijamilusi. Jennifer Echegini sealed the win late in the match, handing Nigeria a record-extending 10th continental title.
