Author, Peter Adeleke, to attempt Guinness World Record for longest leadership lesson

Leadership coach and author Peter Adeleke is set to attempt a Guinness World Record for the longest leadership lesson ever delivered. The event, scheduled as a 48-hour non-stop teaching session, will focus on equipping participants with practical tools for personal and professional leadership.

Adeleke, author of Born to Lead, Called to Serve, said the effort is not just about setting a record but about catalysing a broader conversation on leadership development. “Great leaders aren’t born. They’re made. And they’re made through intentional learning, mentorship, and the right environment,” he said.

The session will be conducted in line with Guinness World Records’ regulations, which allow a five-minute break per hour, with the option to accumulate breaks up to 20 minutes every four hours. Organisers say the structure is designed to maintain participant focus and energy while ensuring full compliance.

During the 48-hour session, Adeleke will address various aspects of leadership, including emotional intelligence, crisis management, team performance, and navigating organisational change. He will also connect leadership principles to challenges in today’s business, social, and political environments.

“Only a few people truly understand what it takes to lead effectively,” Adeleke said. “This initiative is an opportunity to change that, and to build a generation of leaders who can respond to the urgent challenges of our time.”

The event will also feature a job fair and networking opportunities, giving attendees access to career resources alongside the leadership training.

Citing a recent Gallup report indicating that only 22% of employees strongly agree their leaders have a clear direction, Adeleke said the need for strong, clear, and value-driven leadership has never been more critical.
