The Zamfara State Media Advocacy Platform has commended Governor Dauda Lawal for the presentation of vehicles to High Court and Shari’a Court Judicial officers, which it said demonstrates renewed commitment to Justice, Institutional Independence and Effective Administration of Justice.

The group added that, in a significant demonstration of his administration’s commitment to strengthening the justice sector, and improving the working conditions of judicial officers across the State, the provision of the vehicles could help facilitate Justice.

The commissioning and presentation ceremony was held on Friday, 21 August 2026, at the Government House, Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, where the keys to the vehicles were formally presented to the beneficiaries.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Executive Director, Zamfara Media Advocacy Platform, ZAMMAP, Comrade Nasiru Shehu Aula Danbbakal and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the State capital.

According to him, ZAMAP considers the initiative a noteworthy development in the ongoing efforts to improve the effectiveness, dignity and efficiency of the judicial arm of government in Zamfara State.

“The provision of appropriate official vehicles is not merely a matter of welfare or convenience; it is an important institutional support measure that can enhance the mobility of judicial officers and facilitate the discharge of their constitutional and statutory responsibilities”, he said.

“The judiciary occupies a central position in any democratic society. It is entrusted with the interpretation of laws, resolution of disputes, protection of rights and liberties, and administration of justice without fear or favour”

“For judicial officers to perform these responsibilities effectively, they require an enabling environment, adequate institutional support and the necessary logistical facilities”

“Against this background, ZAMAP welcomes the Governor’s intervention as a practical step towards addressing some of the logistical challenges that may confront judicial officers in the course of carrying out their official duties”

“The presentation of vehicles to judges of the High Court and Shari’a Court also underscores the importance of ensuring that the different institutions responsible for the administration of justice are adequately supported”

“Efficient judicial administration requires more than the appointment of qualified judges; it also requires the provision of facilities and resources capable of enabling judges and other judicial personnel to work effectively”

“ZAMAP believes that the initiative will contribute to improving the mobility of judicial officers, particularly in the discharge of official responsibilities that require movement within and outside the State capital”

” It is expected that the vehicles will assist beneficiaries in attending official assignments, judicial engagements and other duties connected with the administration of justice.
More importantly, the gesture sends a broader message about the importance of the judiciary as a critical pillar of governance and democracy”

” It further encourages the Zamfara State Government to sustain its support for the justice sector through continued investment in judicial infrastructure, court facilities, digitalisation, staff development, welfare and other measures that can improve the timely and effective dispensation of justice”
