The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Wednesday, commissioned major housing and operational infrastructure projects for the Nigeria Police Force in Kano State, marking a significant milestone in ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing personnel welfare.

The newly inaugurated facilities, located at Bompai and Zaria Road, include over 300 modern residential units, a 48-office administrative complex, a standard armoury, a transport workshop, POWA shops, worship centres, paved internal roads, and essential support infrastructure. These projects, the IGP noted, are part of a nationwide blueprint to improve the living and working conditions of police officers across the country.

Speaking at the event, IGP Egbetokun emphasised that the initiative is more than a physical upgrade; it reflects a philosophy that prioritises human dignity in national security.

“No officer should fight for the nation by day and sleep in indignity by night,” he stated. “This commissioning is a bold statement that welfare is central to performance, and infrastructure is key to professionalism.”

The IGP commended the private sector collaborators and development partners who contributed to the success of the project and expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support of the Nigeria Police under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He further assured that similar developments are ongoing across several states, as part of a broader institutional renewal strategy designed to build a professional, motivated, and mission-ready police force.

The event was attended by senior police officers, government officials, community leaders, and stakeholders from across the state.

The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the welfare of its personnel, noting that a motivated workforce is essential for effective law enforcement and national development.
