Kaduna By-election: APC take early lead in Chikun, Kajuru polling units

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has shot into an early lead in results from some polling units in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State in Saturday’s bye-election for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency.

At Polling Unit 025, Mahuta 1 in Rido Ward, out of 1,282 accredited voters, APC polled 62 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured 26. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) got 11 votes, with one invalid ballot recorded.

In Polling Unit 017, Meyere High Cost, APC again led with 28 votes, while PDP managed 4. The ADC and Labour Party (LP) scored 4 and 5 votes respectively.

At Polling Unit 002, LEA Primary School, Narayi, APC scored 26 votes, PDP followed with 15, while ADC had 4 and LP polled 10.

Also, in Polling Unit 024 of the same Narayi Primary School, APC got 44 votes, PDP 33, LP 8 and ADC 6.

Most Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presiding officers have since moved to the designated collation centres to submit results, under heavy security escort.

Security presence has also been reinforced at the collation centres and the INEC headquarters in Kaduna, as anxious party agents await the declaration of results from across the constituency.
