Billionaire businessman and Chairman of First HoldCo, Femi Otedola, has shared a poster showing that his new memoir Making It Big has reached number three on Amazon’s bestseller list for Business Biographies and Memoirs just two days after release.
The update was posted on his official X handle on Thursday, alongside a graphic confirming the book’s early performance on the global platform.
The 286-page book, which was formally launched on August 18, is described as a candid reflection on the lessons, setbacks and victories that shaped his career.
In earlier comments, Otedola said the memoir contains “the real stories, the moments of doubt, the breakthroughs, and the principles that guided me through it all.”
The 62-year-old businessman also recounts how he left school without completing his A Levels to work in his father’s printing business, Impact Press, in Surulere, Lagos.
“I never returned for my Upper Sixth. All I wanted was to get involved in business,” he wrote. That decision, once resisted by his mother, became the foundation for his rise in business.
From there, Otedola became managing director of the family press before moving on to establish Centre Force Ltd. in 1994 with ₦10 million in starting capital.
Over the years, he expanded into oil and gas, real estate, shipping, finance and philanthropy. He chaired Forte Oil, later ventured into power with Geregu Power Plc, and today heads First HoldCo Plc where his investment has risen to N320 billion in cash
