INEC urges Osun residents to collect over 360,000 unclaimed voter cards

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on residents of Osun State who have not collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

INEC’s Osun State spokesperson, Musa Olurode, said in a statement on Tuesday that a total of 360,794 PVCs remain uncollected at the commission’s offices.

He stressed that the CVR provides an opportunity for eligible voters to retrieve their cards ahead of future elections.

“INEC in Osun is using this medium to inform the general public that the ongoing voter registration exercise provides yet another opportunity for people yet to collect their PVCs to do so. More than 360,794 PVCs are uncollected in Osun. INEC, under the leadership of Dr. Mutiu Agboke, is requesting owners of these cards to use this opportunity for the ongoing CVR to collect their cards,” Olurode said.

He added that the uncollected PVCs are available at all 30 INEC local government offices across the state, as well as at the Area Office in Modakeke, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily.

Olurode also encouraged eligible residents who have not yet registered to do so, and cautioned against multiple registrations, emphasizing the importance of compliance with electoral regulations.

The commission reiterated that collecting PVCs and ensuring proper registration are critical steps for participating in Nigeria’s democratic process.
