Governor Ahmed U. Fintiri of Adamawa State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and welfare across key sectors in the state, emphasising that these initiatives are targeted at increasing productivity and creating a more favourable working environment.
The governor made the remarks yesterday during an inspection of ongoing renovation works at the Customary Court and High Court in Yola, where he expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of the project.
Governor Fintiri noted that his administration is prioritising the judiciary, legislature, and civil service by providing modern facilities and comfortable office spaces. He stressed that such improvements are vital to enable workers to perform optimally.
“The judiciary, as a critical arm of government, deserves a workspace that reflects its importance. We are investing in infrastructure that will serve both current and future needs,” he stated.
Commending the contractors for their excellent execution of the court renovations, the governor assured that the upgraded buildings would soon be handed over for official use.
Fintiri also disclosed that the Adamawa State House of Assembly complex is undergoing a total renovation, while the Government House has been completely refurbished, including the installation of new offices for the governor and his staff.
He added that several outdated civil service buildings, some dating back to the Gongola State era, have been demolished to pave the way for new, more functional office complexes.
On workers’ welfare, Governor Fintiri highlighted recent advancements in civil service promotions and financial incentives, noting that these improvements extend to primary school staff as well.
“The reforms we’ve implemented are unprecedented and have been widely appreciated by our workforce,” he said.
The governor’s remarks were observed to have underscored his administration’s broader agenda to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance service delivery across Adamawa State.
