Ambassador Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke, wife of the Governor of Osun State, has been inducted into the Nigerian Books of Record (NBR) Hall of Fame and conferred with the Fellowship of the Nigerian Books of Record (FNBR).
The honours, presented at a ceremony held at the Admos Event Centre in Ede, celebrated the Osun First Lady’s humanitarian contributions, philanthropy, and advocacy for women and youth empowerment.
Presenting the awards, NBR Director General, Prof. David O. David, described Erelu Adeleke as “a rare gem whose service to humanity transcends boundaries.”
He praised her work through the Esther Adeleke Humanitarian Foundation, which he said has restored hope to the vulnerable, empowered women and youths, and advanced education and healthcare across Osun State.
“These honours are not ceremonial but a recognition of her unwavering commitment to lifting the less privileged and inspiring a new generation of women leaders,” Prof. David added.
Through her foundation, Erelu Adeleke has led medical outreach programmes, championed girl-child education with initiatives such as Pad Up a Girl Child and Educate a Child, Save Our Future, and supported families with twins and triplets — a signature programme that earned her the nickname “Mummy Triplets.” She has also empowered over 1,800 youths through vocational training and SME development in partnership with local and international institutions.
In her acceptance speech, Erelu Adeleke dedicated the honours to the people she serves. “This honour is not just about me; it belongs to every mother, girl child, youth, and family who has found hope through our work,” she said. She pledged to expand her humanitarian reach, noting that her “greatest joy is seeing lives transformed.”
Beyond her philanthropic work, Erelu Adeleke has over two decades of banking experience and holds degrees in psychology, advertising, and public relations. She is also a United Nations Peace Ambassador and holds several honorary titles, including Erelu Soludero of Erinmo Kingdom and Obirin Akoni Bibiire I.
With her induction, she joins an exclusive group of Nigerians immortalised in the NBR Hall of Fame — a recognition reserved for individuals whose service has left an enduring impact on national development.
