Keystone Bank chairman urges integrity, innovation at CIBN induction ceremony

Lady Dr. Ada Chukwudozie, Chairman of Keystone Bank Limited, has called on the next generation of Nigerian bankers to prioritise integrity, innovation, and lifelong learning as fundamental pillars for success in the financial sector.

Addressing over a thousand new inductees at the 2025 Chartered Banker Induction and Prize Awards Ceremony, organised by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) on Saturday, Lady Chukwudozie emphasised that while technological advancement drives the industry, ethical conduct remains its most valuable asset.

“The banker of the future must innovate, adapt, and above all, remain ethical. Profit without integrity is destructive, and progress without trust is unsustainable,” she said, highlighting the theme of the event, “The Smart Banker’s Compass: Innovate, Adapt and Solve Like a Pro.”

Lady Chukwudozie noted that banking extends beyond financial calculations, stressing its role in supporting small businesses, helping families achieve their goals, and ensuring inclusive access to financial services. “Banking is not only about figures or profits but about people enabling small businesses to grow, helping families achieve their dreams, and ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind in accessing financial services,” she said.

Commending the CIBN for its work in promoting professionalism and ethical standards, she observed that the growing number of inductees reflects both the institute’s relevance and the increasing significance of professional conduct in the Nigerian financial system.

Lady Chukwudozie also reaffirmed Keystone Bank’s commitment to capacity building and collaboration with the CIBN. “At Keystone Bank, we firmly believe that the sustainability of our industry depends on deliberate human capacity development. Our Learning Academy is fully accredited by the CIBN as a training centre of excellence. We run programmes for both fresh graduates and experienced staff, invest in their professional growth, and proudly celebrate the induction of 14 of our staff members today,” she said.

The induction ceremony brought together banking professionals, industry leaders, and award recipients, providing a platform to underscore the importance of innovation, ethics, and continuous professional development in shaping the future of banking in Nigeria.
