The 42nd birthday of Professor Chris Imumolen, former presidential candidate of the Accord Party, has drawn attention to a growing body of educational and humanitarian projects he has carried out across Nigeria and beyond.

Imumolen, who founded the Prof. Chris Imumolen (PCI) Foundation, has long used the platform to provide scholarships for thousands of young people. Beneficiaries include Nigerian students as well as others in neighbouring countries seeking access to professional skills and higher education.

In his role as founder and vice chancellor of Global Wealth University, Togo, Imumolen recently presented ₦2.7 million to the institution’s best graduating student, reinforcing his commitment to academic excellence. Locally, he commissioned a fully furnished library in the Lugbe community of Abuja, an intervention that community leaders say has improved access to books and learning facilities.

His focus extends beyond academics. Through his foundation, he has made donations to disaster victims, including relief materials for more than 3,000 people affected by flooding in Borno State. He has also supported institutions such as the Lagos office of the National Human Rights Commission with the donation of an operational vehicle to aid service delivery.

In addition, Imumolen has sought to provide opportunities for young Nigerians through vocational and creative training. He has sponsored free workshops in Abuja and Lagos to equip participants with skills in skit production and content creation, targeting employment and growth within the creative industry.

Imumolen’s efforts have been recognised at different forums, including the 2025 Humanitarian Awards and Magazine Summit, where he was named Humanitarian Education and Social Impact Champion of the Year. The award was presented by the Anambra State First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo.

As tributes marked his 42nd birthday on Wednesday, associates and beneficiaries of his programmes described him as a figure who has combined education, philanthropy, and community service into a consistent public record.
