Eid-el-Mawlid: Cleric urges prayers for peace, national development

Nigerians have been urged to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Mawlid celebration to pray for peace, unity, and the socio-economic development of the country.

Renowned cleric and planter of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Adamimogo Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, made the call while congratulating Muslims in Ekiti State and across Nigeria for witnessing the annual commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SWT).

In a statement signed by his aide, Deji Ogunbusuyi, Alo described Prophet Muhammad as an icon of peace and urged Muslims to use the period to intercede for Nigeria and Ekiti State.

“The prayers of the righteous can bring about the right leadership,” he said, noting that the celebration provides an opportunity for Muslims to draw closer to Allah and seek divine intervention on social, economic, political, psychological, and spiritual issues affecting the nation.

He called on Nigerians of all faiths to use such occasions to promote unity and nation-building.

“Let us think about what these great religious figures did to better humanity in their time. They were selfless, cared for the downtrodden, and promoted peace. The Holy Prophet (PBUH), whose birth we celebrate today, gave his all in service to mankind. We must be our brother’s keeper,” Prophet Alo stated.

Expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future, he said: “With our diversity of religions and ethnicities, Nigeria has what it takes to attain greatness if we embrace love and mutual understanding.”

Meanwhile, Prophet Alo invited Nigerian youths to a series of upcoming prayer vigils scheduled for October 24, 2025, at the Purpose Centre, Abuja; October 25, 2025, at Orange FM, Akure; and October 26, 2025, opposite NNPC, Ado-Ekiti.

According to Hon. Ogunbusuyi, the programs are specially designed to ignite spiritual revival among young people.

“Prophet has a special calling for the youths. We just concluded an annual conference tagged Mercy of David where we witnessed many testimonies. We believe that those attending the Abuja programme will experience spiritual revival, discover their purpose in life, and receive deliverance and breakthrough,” he added.
