NPFL: Nasarawa lands rising star, Istifanus, upbeat on league chances

Jofrank Istifanus, one of the brightest prospects to emerge from Abuja-based CAMPpro FC, has sealed a move to Nasarawa United, stepping into Nigeria’s top flight after a standout season in the Nationwide League One (NLO).

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder was a creative spark for CAMPpro during the 2025 campaign, making 13 appearances, scoring four goals, and providing four assists without receiving a single booking.

His consistent displays in the number eight role proved vital in driving the ambitious club into the promotion playoffs, underscoring his reputation as a disciplined and decisive performer.

Nasarawa United, known as the Solid Miners, unveiled Istifanus as one of 17 fresh recruits for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. The Lafia-based side, which finished 12th last term with 52 points, is rebuilding with renewed determination, targeting not only a stronger domestic run but also a push for continental qualification.

Istifanus has already made two appearances in the NPFL since completing his switch in late August. Though yet to register his first goal, he has been deployed as a creative link in midfield, offering the flair and vision that convinced Nasarawa United to invest in his potential.

His transfer also highlights the growing reputation of CAMPpro FC as a nursery for Nigerian talent. Founded in 2019 and formally registered in 2024, the Abuja outfit has quickly built a name for itself as a developmental hub, producing players capable of stepping into the country’s elite football ranks.

For Istifanus, the move represents both a personal step forward and an opportunity to prove himself on the highest stage of Nigerian football. For CAMPpro, it is further validation of a model centred on opportunity, growth, and long-term ambition.
