Ikorodu City FC will continue its association with sports betting firm BetKing for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League season, following confirmation that the two parties have extended their partnership for a third consecutive year.
The Lagos-based side, nicknamed the Oga Boys, have risen quickly through the football ranks since the agreement began in 2023, securing promotion to the NPFL in 2024 and finishing fourth in their debut campaign last term. That season was marked by a resounding 6–0 win over Katsina United, one of the heaviest defeats in the league’s history.
BetKing, which operates under the KingMakers umbrella, has made significant investments in Nigerian sport in recent years. Beyond football, it has supported para-athletics at the National Sports Festival in Ogun State, staged a wheelchair basketball championship, and worked with the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria. Earlier this year, the company opened a community sports complex in Ifako Ijaiye, which is already in use by thousands of residents.
The renewed agreement with Ikorodu City is expected to further strengthen the club’s ambition of consolidating its place in the NPFL, while also deepening BetKing’s presence in Nigerian football. Club officials described the support as instrumental in driving their rapid progress, while the company pointed to its wider commitment to grassroots development and inclusivity.
