In a show of political strength and grassroots mobilisation, Hon. Makinde Araoye on Sunday convened a strategic meeting of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Ekiti South West Local Government, where party leaders and faithful unanimously pledged their support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s second-term bid and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.
The meeting, held in Ilawe-Ekiti, witnessed massive participation from party leaders, local government executives, ward leaders, delegates, and grassroots supporters, reinforcing the APC’s unity in the area.
Those present included Ekiti South West Local Government Chairman Hon. Richard Apolola; Hon. Oluwole Ariyo; former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Investments, Hon. Yemisi Ayokunle; Ekiti State House of Assembly member representing Ekiti South West Constituency I, Hon. Tony Adaramodu; Hon. Tope Agidi; Hon. Fola Afolalu; State Party Exco member Hon. Adedara Phillips; Chief Gbenga Agbona; Special Adviser to the Governor on Parliamentary Matters, Hon. Raphael Abiola Olowookere; APC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Felix Olajide; Igbara-Odo/Ogotun LCDA Chairperson, Hon. Bose Arowolaju; Hon. Ogundana Benjamen; Hon. Olaluwoye; and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Hon. Tunji Amodi, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Araoye praised Governor Oyebanji’s remarkable performance in office and assured that the APC structure in Ekiti South West would be fully mobilised to secure his re-election. He also reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu’s reform agenda, describing it as the foundation for Nigeria’s socio-economic renewal.
Araoye urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure maximum participation in the ongoing voter registration exercise, noting that a strong voter base across wards and communities would be key to victory in the upcoming elections.
The meeting further solidified APC’s unity in Ekiti South West, energising its political machinery ahead of Governor Oyebanji’s second-term campaign and President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
