Kaduna Govt condemns attack, killings of residents, orders killers’ man-hunt

Kaduna State Government has condemned the attack, killings and destruction of properties in parts of the State, just as it directed security Operatives to hunt and arrest the perpetrators with a view of prosecution.

The Government said that it received with deep sorrow reports of the killing of persons following the attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, a border community between Kaduna State and Ganawuri in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

In a statement on Monday, by the Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki, he explained that “the Government strongly condemns the attack and has directed security agencies to intensify operations to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.”

According to him, the Governor, Uba Sani “extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, prays for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased, the speedy recovery of the injured, and has directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA) to provide immediate relief and humanitarian support to affected families.”

“The Kaduna State Government reaffirms its commitment to working with the Plateau State Government, security agencies, traditional institutions and other stakeholders to strengthen security cooperation, restore lasting peace and protect lives and property along the Kaduna–Plateau border”, Maiyaki added..

He further remarked that “the Government urges residents to remain calm, vigilant and law-abiding, support security agencies with credible information, reject violence and embrace dialogue”, stressing , “the Kaduna State Government remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding every community and sustaining peace, security and social harmony across the State”.
