ReCreaX, a pioneering initiative focused on empowering emerging professionals in Nigeria, has unveiled Rex, an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven career mentor, aimed at making career guidance accessible to talents across the country.
The launch marked a significant step in the organisation’s mission to connect learning experiences with tangible employment opportunities.
Co-founders Onome Jike and Tolulope Omotola developed Rex to address a critical challenge faced by early-stage professionals: translating academic knowledge and project skills into meaningful career pathways.
“Talents kept telling us they loved the projects they worked on, but didn’t always know how to show employers what they’d done. We realised the learning experience itself wasn’t enough, we had to help close the loop,” said Jike.
She stated that ReCreaX initially gained recognition for its innovative project-based learning model, allowing participants to “learn by doing,” adding that the approach provided many with their first meaningful experience of solving real-world problems outside academic settings, fostering both skill development and confidence in applying knowledge practically.
On her part, Omotola stated that Rex enhances the learning experience by helping individuals translate their skills and experiences into structured, career-ready narratives.
“The AI mentor offers résumé perception analysis, skill audits, and interview coaching, collectively aiding talents in converting their capabilities into tangible career capital.”
She emphasised fairness as a core mission, stating, “Our goal has always been to ensure that regardless of where someone starts their learning journey, they have a route into the industry.
“Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. With Rex, we are able to level the playing field. Rex has been piloted with over 50 emerging professionals, with participants describing it as personalised mentorship, boosting confidence and clarifying career pathways.”
