Abiodun seeks stronger ties with China

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, met with Shandong Province Governor Zhou Naixiang on Thursday.

The details of the meeting was revealed in a statement released by the Ogun State Government on Tuesday.

“Governor Abiodun explained that the engagement underscores his administration’s determination to expand the frontiers of investment and cooperation for the benefit of the people of Ogun State.

“According to him, the meeting focused on exploring opportunities in critical sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, and human capital development,” the statement read in part.

At the meeting, Abiodun and his Chinese counterpart explored avenues for collaboration aimed at strengthening economic and trade relations between Shandong and Ogun State under the broader framework of the Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership (NCSP).

Abiodun described Shadong Province as one of China’s most industrially advanced regions, with vast potential for collaboration, adding that a partnership with the province unlock new opportunities in trade, investment inflows, job creation for Ogun State.

The Ogun State Governor also reaffirmed the state’s commitment positioning itself as the gateway to Nigeria’s industrial future.

According to him, the meeting with Shandong authorities represents another milestone in the State’s vision of building an economy that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and global partnerships.
